You
are most likely using the function which only inserts the current
date and does not automatically update it. To insert the date and
have it automatically update, this can be done as follows:
1.
Open Author and select Insert -> Fields -> Other.
2.
From the Type panel, choose Date. From the Select
panel, choose Date, choosing Date (fixed) will
cause the date to not automatically update. From the Format
panel, choose the format of your choice. Press Insert.
3. Save your template and the next time you use it, the date field will be updated accordingly.
