When pasting data copied from other programs into Author and you would like only the text to be pasted, you can do the following:
1. Open Author.
2. Select Edit -> Paste Special
(Ctrl+Shift+V)
3. Select Unformatted text and press
OK. This should paste only the text and remove lines, borders, and other unwanted objects.
