Do I need to use e-Backup?

"I always copy my files to a floppy whenever I use one of the ONE programs. Do I need to use e-Backup?"

That depends.  If the only thing you use e-Backup for is saving your ONE data files, then the answer might be no. Some people habitually copy all of the files they create with ONE programs to a floppy disk (or any other location not on their computer's hard drive) and if you are one of the people who does this, then using e-Backup to save your ONE data files is unnecessary.  If your  computer were to ever break down, you could simply retrieve your files from the floppy disk. (You shouldn't be storing a copy of your data only on a floppy disk, but should also keep copies on the hard drive of your computer so that if the floppy disk is damaged, you will not lose your work. It is dangerous to allow your work to only reside on a floppy disk, as they can be easily damaged.)

On the other hand, if you, like most users, don't habitually save your data files to floppy disks, or if, like most users, you have other important files, folders, or drives which you want to backup, then you should be using e-Backup.  e-Backup helps you to save and restore a huge volume of important files in a quick, intuitive manner.  Although it is possible to manually backup your computer by simply copying each file you want to save to a floppy disk, removable hard drive, CD, or DVD, this process can be boring, annoying, and time-consuming.  For most people who want their files to be stored in a safe place in case of an emergency but don't want to spend hours and hours doing this, e-Backup is an important, valuable program.  Although you don't need to use e-Backup, you do need to backup your files in some way or another and e-Backup is a simple tool which will do this for you; as such, we would highly recommend that you use it.
